At St Mary’s NHS Treatment Centre we offer free NHS treatments to all patients. You are not required to pay if you are an NHS patient and have been referred for treatment by your GP.
One of the most common and quickest forms of surgery, cataract surgery involves the removal of cloudy patches in the lens of the eye which makes vision blurred or misty.
Glaucoma is an eye condition which can lead to loss of vision if not detected. It can affect people of all ages but is most prevalent in those in their 70s and 80s. It is a common condition but it doesn’t always display symptoms in the early stages. Several quick and painless tests can be carried out to check for glaucoma, including measurements of the pressure inside your eye and tests of your peripheral vision.
Please also be aware that we are not affected by the NHS announcement to cancel all non-urgent surgery; if you are booked in for an appointment or surgery with us it will still go ahead.
